先日ご連絡いたしましたDr. Connolly 講演会に関しましてお知らせがございます。
現在、本学においてはしか流行のため、5/11(土)〜20(日)まで、学生の課外活動全面禁止となりました。つきましては、今回のDr.Connolly講演会は学生の方の参加はできません。（既に罹患済み・予防注射などで大丈夫だという方はもちろん来て頂いて結構です）また、学生以外の方でもはしかに罹る可能性のある方はご遠慮いただいたほうがよいかと思われます。何卒よろしくご了承下さいますようお願い申し上げます。

A condensed history of Anglophone Canadian literature from the
eighteenth century to the present, with an accent on postcolonialism.
It Could be said that Canadian literature has always been engaged with
the postcolonial: from settlers' early awareness of their in-between
position, to the need to build a national identity which rose to a
height in the 1960s and 1970s with the theories of Frye, Atwood and
Dennis Lee, to the complications presented to the idea of
postcolonialism by a settler culture which officially claims
multiculturalism.
Over three stages, colonial, national, and postcolonial, trends and
issues in Canadian literature will be traced: evolution of landscape
description and relationship of inhabitant to environment; contrary
impulses of national and international, provincial and cosmopolitan;
development of native Canadian and multicultural literatures. Authors
discussed range in time, heritage, gender and genre, from explorer
Samuel Hearne, settler Susanna Moodie, half English half Mohawk
Pauline Johnson, and the patriotic Confederation Poets, to Michael
Ondaatje, Joy Kogawa, Tomson Highway and Rohinton Mistry.
