【開催案内】CGP・全米日系人博物館共催　日米シンポジウム
『変わりゆく日本のイメージ？米メディア界で活躍する日系人の見方』

国際交流基金日米センター（CGP)と全米日系人博物館は、第三回となる日米
公開シンポジウムを共催します。ダニエル・イノウエ上院議員、長谷川閑史
日本経団連アメリカ委員会委員長による基調講演に続き、映画『硫黄島から
の手紙』脚本家のアイリス・ヤマシタ氏など、米国メディア・映画界の第一
線で活躍する日系アメリカ人３名のパネリストに、米国メディアを通した日
本のイメージとその変容について語っていただきます。また、聴衆の方々と
の質疑応答も含め、広く日米相互理解の深化、日米関係強化のためのメディ
アの役割について活発な討議を行います。

多数の皆様のご参加をお待ちしております。

U.S.-Japan public symposium
“Is the Image of Japan Changing? - Perspectives of Japanese Americans
in Media -”

The Japan Foundation Center for Global Partnership (CGP) and the Japanese
American National Museum will co-host the third U.S.-Japan public symposium.

Following the keynote speeches of Hon. Daniel K. Inouye, U.S. Senator and
Mr. Yasuchika Hasegawa, Chairman of Committee on U.S. Affairs, Nippon
Keidanren, three influential Japanese American panelists on the forefront
of the U.S. media and movie worlds, including Ms. Iris Yamashita, a
screenwriter of “Letters from Iwojima”, will offer their insights on
the image of Japan and how it is changing, based on their experiences.
There will then be in-depth discussions with audience participation on
how to promote further mutual understanding between Japan and U.S.
through the media and to build a stronger bilateral relationship.

We look forward to having many participants in this symposium.
